OPEN POSITIONS
POSITION: Design Assistant
SUPERVISOR: Project Designer
DESCRIPTION: To support and participate with the design team in creating beautiful and functional spaces for residential
clients while using industry knowledge, design experience, innovative design concepts and creativity, all while following
the DeCesare Design Group standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*To work on projects from all phases of design through installment, including but not limited to: CAD drawings, sourcing,
hand sketching, finish selection, fabric selection, meeting prep, meeting participation, and site visits.
*Work directly with team to create and present presentation boards to include CAD drawings, mood boards, FF&E, finish
materials, color palettes, hardware and lighting.
*Generate specification sheets for project documents.
*Create work orders for custom furnishings.
*Provide design and administration support during creation, documentation and execution of design intent.
*Source and work with outside vendors to select and coordinate furniture, fixtures & accessories.
*Communicate well with entire project team including outside contractors and vendors.
*Keep projects organized and efficient.
*Handle multiple projects at once.
*Attend client meetings and take great notes.
*Represent DeCesare Design Group well with clients, in the office, on social media and in the design community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school.
*Passionate about design and creating spaces that shape our client’s lives.
*Proficient in Auto CAD, SketchUP, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Suite (Excel).
*Knowledge in Studio IT is a plus.
*Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections and specifications.
*Knowledge of design requirements, construction methods and materials for high end residential environments.
*Must be able to multitask and work independently.
*Must be able to collaborate, work well in teams and take direction well.
*Organization skills are critical.
*Craftiness or Building experience is beneficial.
*Confident, ambitious and over all positive attitude.
*Good communicator and not afraid to ask questions.
*Has great attention to detail and takes good notes.
*A good “figurer‐outer” = self starter.
*Must be GREAT at follow through!
*Understands importance of deadlines.
*Works well under pressure.
*Reliable car.
*Willing to travel locally and abroad.
*Ability to haul heavy samples and small furniture items during presentations or installations.
*Familiar with Phoenix area design showrooms and stores.
*Must be based in Phoenix area or willing to relocate.
COMPENSATION:
*Starting at $15‐$20/hour based on experience and assessment during trial period
*Eligible for Medical & Dental Benefits after 90 Day trial period
*Eligible for 401k after 6 months of employment.
